As a Tom Welling die hard fan, it would have been great to get more face time in this film, but the Universe of his Character Drew in Draft Day was good enough for mefor now anyway. This movie reminds me why I love film as entertainment..devoid of violence, social decay, gimmicks and special effects, Draft Day even reminds me of how great life can be even with all of its challenges. I have seen both negative and positive reviews and box office results, but I'm hoping that more filmmakers and movie goers support this type of film so they can continue. We need more visions of good moral character and values leading to success.
I was surprised to hear Tom say during promotional interviews that he has nothing in the works coming up. I wish we, the fans knew the inside story behind that deal. To us, it's a phenomenoncan't imagine after a 10 year successful run that such a dry spell would follow. Is it a lack of quality material? Does Tom need a new agent or manager? What's really the deal. (Tom Welling haters need not reply). I'm entertained by happy endings and proud of it.

Can't believe Hollywood doesn't know what to do with that guy. Come on, maybe after 10 years, make him the bad guy, but don't forget him.

Tom is more interested in the BTS aspects of films. He's probably not even looking hard for acting roles.

Maybe he just hasn't gotten any offers that have really caught his interest yet, at any rate i don't care if he can't draw a huge crowd, heck i wouldn't even care if he couldn't act(witch i think he can) i just love to look at his beautiful face and body! lol

Totally agree with everything you said. It is so rare to see a film that doesn't rely heavily on special effects and crazy or depressing storylines. I, too, like a happy ending and feeling good when I walk out of a movie theater. I wish this film would have had more football scenes and definitely more Tom Welling. I found the romance between Costner and Garner unbelievable and over done.
I also am amazed and confused as to the lack of starring roles for Tom Welling. He is so talented and good looking. I would have thought he would be having to fight off the movie offers. Sadly, this isn't the case. The only thing I can figure is that he took too much time off and now directors and producers doubt his ability to draw in the crowds. He also doesn't like to be in the spotlight and that could be hurting his chances at landing the big role. He certainly deserves to be a leading man and I hope that he will get his big break soon!
