Do any of you know why Jaleel wants to wash his hands of his "Steve Urkel" role? Because it nearly killed his entire career.

IMO he's like KO KO B Ware (80s/90s pro wrestler) in that he may "regret" not being "big", but I think Jaleel is just fine like you said.

I think people don't see Bob Saget as Danny Tanner as much anymore. A lot of his dirty stand-up comedy has remedied his public image as not being totally squeaky clean. But he hasn't done anything too huge in terms of acting.
I honestly do like Jaleel and sometimes not making it big is okay, too.

I don't think he regreted ever playing Urkel, but in someways it can be a career killer. Look at Henry Winkler who played Fonzie. That guys career has never really been the same after playing that role.
I think the reason Jaleel White didn't do too much after "Family Matters" was because he went back to school. (smart move) He still seems to be around. I remember his short lived sitcom around 1999 or 2000.
Heck, who knows, he may come back and do some movies or more TV. May do more behind the scenes stuff. He's only like 33 or 34 years old. He still has a long road ahead of him.

But I would say nosince he is keeping pretty busy..
