My best friend and I were debating whether Demond was still alive and I wonof course. He's six years younger than my mother. We're celebrating his birthday with a good dose of Sanford & Son on TV Land. Take care all!

That's not the point - don't be crude.
Anyone remember in the pilot episode Lamont had an afro and was really "crude" to Fred? In the preceding episodes Lamont had cut his hair and toned down the abusive quality.

I'm not trying to be nit-picky, but it's "crude"

My favorite episode is when Fred & Lamont stike oil in their backyard, and they have arabs come over to test the oil to make sure it was authentic. The whole episode is hilarious, but the funniest part I can remember is
Arab : Just as I thought, Crood pure crood. (As he tests the oil)
Fred : Hey just because we live in Watts you don't have to insult our oil.
Arab : Oh no Mr. Sanford, Crood is "goooood".
Lamont : How "goooood?"
Fred : How "Mooooch"?
My dad also really likes the episode with the chicken wings though
"If I'm an A**hole There's a Reason For It, You're Contagious."(Not really, it's only my signature)

Great sentiment! I haven't seen
Sanford & Son
in ages, but I remember a lot of the hilarious scenes in the many episodes I saw, like the time when Fred & Lamont are flown first-class to a funeral, and Fred brings chicken wings on the flight! Then when he's told by Lamont that they get their meal for free on the flight, Fred gets up & asks everybody if they want some chicken wings, as he doesn't want them to go to waste! Lamont shakes his head in total embarrassment. LOL, classic scene!
Those were the good old days of TV, that's for sure!
I really miss shows like
S & S
,
All In The Family
,
The Jeffersons
, etc. Demond was great with Redd Foxx on the show, I agree that his character was his perfect compliment to Redd's!
Hope Demond is
happy
&
in good health
!
