I'm truly saddened by this. His Radio 2 show was fantastic, owing to his fantastic, mischievous humour and affable nature. I'm too young to remember his chat show but loved his Eurovision commentary and presenting of Points of View on a Sunday afternoon, as well as, of course, Children in Need. He was clearly a very kind, gentle man who never took himself too seriously and always made his guests feel at ease.
I genuinely feel like I have lost someone close to me, a sentiment I have heard many others make upon hearing this sad news - testament to the man himself. It may sound strange to say, but even though he was 77 it still feels like he was taken too soon. A really lovely man who will be greatly missed. RIP Sir Terry.

A sad day. We have lost one of the most cheerful people to work on British broadcasting. His chat show provided some never to forget moments, David Icke and George Best to name just 2 examples. His Eurovison commentary never failed to entertain though by the end you feel his despair at how political it became.
RIP Tel

Seemed like a decent guy.
Although I was a little too young for his time in charge of "Blankety Blank", I enjoyed his 1980s/early 90s TV chat show. It was much more entertaining and seemed to get better guests than a lot of similar shows, and Wogan was always a convivial host.
His ironic Eurovision Song Contest commentary was always a delight, and for a time he seemed like the face of the BBC, which is no bad thing.
So it's sad to read of his passing.
Rest in Peace.
