Actually sh238e did give consent for the movie, books, anything that had to do with her life. She told the people closest to her to make a buck off her story any way they could. I saw her say this in an interview on tv. That was about 2 months before she died.

i liked the film, i admit.
but the fact is aileen herself didnt want it made, people just made money off her and her life, without her consent, all she was to them was a few oscars and a wad of cash, not a real person.

I dont think that the movie was great per se, but Charlize Theron's performance was amazing. I think that may have helped the movie be better than it should have been.
