I've seen some Jane Wyman films the last few days on Turner Classic Movies (the Douglas Sirk-directed fi5b4lms Magnificent Obsession and All That Heaven Allows, as well as some of her late 30s/early 40s films), and I also own the DVD of Disney's Pollyanna, and I gotta tell ya - I never knew Jane Wyman was such an attractive woman! She has (or had, I guess) a very girl-next-door yet soulful sort of screen presence. It's her eyes that really get me. Big, beautiful brown eyes full of emotion. Man, that's hard to beat! It's weird, when I see Miss Wyman looking up toward the camera I feel more relaxed. She was so pretty.

She was very pretty, yes.
Especially in this picture:
She also seemed like a very classy lady.

"She was a surprisingly sexy little blonde bombshell in her early career,"
Absolutely correct. She wasn't in the least bit plain, as a lot of people seem to think, though she did PLAY a few plain women. She could be surprisingly sexy. Same with Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine. Both stunning women though they often toned down their beauty if the part required it.

I absolutely adore Jane Wyman. Her way to act was wonderful and special, a wonderful actress and after what I know, also a wonderful woman.

I always thought she was plain. Then I saw her yesterday in Miracle in the Rain and I was enchanted5b4 with her and enthralled with her acting and ability to stir up great emotion with such apparent ease. Now I want to see her in everything and I suddenly find her very pretty. There is such sensitivity in her acting, and yes, I felt very relaxed watching her too!

She was a surprisingly sexy little blonde bombshell in her early career, late 30's and early 40's before she went brunette and "dramatic".
