I'm pretty sure we can rule out 1933. Does anyone really believe he was only 28 when Night of the Eagle was released?

I don't think there's anything extraordinary about me except this passion for the truth.

Wikipedia says that his birth name, age and place of birth are all being disputed. He could be born anywhere between 1926 and 1933. He states 1933 as the year of birth, but various censuses and testimonies put him as born in 1930, 1928 or 1926.

I am now not sure that "the man himself" is the most reliable source of information about his own life! The "Early life" section of the Wikipedia article uses original sources to make a persuasive case that he has fabricated many aspects of his origins, not just his date of birth, and that while the IMDB biog is the official version, it is not necessarily the truth.
Many folks in entertainment have done this, it's not a big deal, but in these days of online resources, there comes a time to own the truth.
