I love living in the downtown area of a college town for the most part. I love that I can walk to the library and some shops and restaurants. I love the sense of community and lack of conservative retards.
Not a fan of the amount of solicitors who knock on the door. I don't want your ****in Vivant or Cable TV. I don'twant your Jesus either. I need to get a sign.
Also hate how the dogs hear every little noise from neighbors and the parks when they have events and stuff.
It's actually pretty quiet here. It's off the main street, but a lot of people don't realize this street cuts through the highway traffic, so it's quieter than some country roads I've lived on… aside from what I mentioned.

Never seen that here and haven't heard people honking after a wedding. I wonder if that practice was banned.

That reminds me. Sometimes it's this street, but sometimes the one over has funeral processions.

I'm on a very busy street and I'm use to the flow of traffic but I'll never get use to emergency vehicles and their sirens zipping by.

It's not like a big city downtown, and it's not on a busy street, which is good. The neighborhood is more of a residential area right off the busy streets. Lots of craftsman and other older style houses; some built in the 1800's.
But it's just close enough to everything to be rife with solicitors.
I have had people park in front of the house at times, which shouldn't annoy me but does.

I love the busyness of living in a downtown area, especially when the weather is nicer and events are going on.
However, I don’t like when I come home when an event is happening and I’ve damn near (or have) lost my parking spot.

Did ya hear about that city couple that went out to the country?..they drove for miles and miles and they stopped at this little country store and they asked the guy behind the counter what it was like living out in the country and he goes “I couldn’t tell ya, I’ve never lived anywhere but here in town”

#1, Sounds like a great arrangement so far..
#2,
then don't watch or pay for cable TV.
Definitely get that No Solicitors sign!
#3,
I couldn't agree more!
Think of the poor animals!
#4, sounds like a fairly decent setup.
No situation is perfect.
