<p dir="auto">Very good read but it made me sad too. It really is a shame that The Smiths only lasted for five years. They had so much potential as a band. The problem I think was M&amp;M were both arrogant bastards who took on more responsibilities than they should have by assuming managerial duties. They ought to have gotten somebody like Rob Gretton, the guy who managed Joy Division and New Order, to do that stuff. Plus they really should have treated Rourke and Joyce more like bandmembers than session musicians and given them a fairer share of the recording and touring royalties. Those two were the best rhythm section M&amp;M could have asked for. What a shame.<br />
What we have here is a failure to give a <em>beep</em></p>

If the guys had vision in The Smiths they coulda bin as big as The Dooleys orthe heady heights o stardom afforded to the likes o' Darts or Matt Bianco, ye ken Cracko?<br />
