No it wasn't. Morrissey simply took a dig at a whole country's electoral system without knowing the facts. Yes, there had never been a black president until the time that he wrote that song, but he took the easy option of slagging off an entire country rather than recognise the HUGE strides it had made since the race problems of the 1960s.
Morrissey simply loves to moan and have a dig at people and society rather than pro-actively contribute.
People may knock Bono and Bob Geldof, but at least they get involved rather than sniping behind the lyrics of their songs.

You were very perceptive to post that the day after Obama's election (or, more likely, you were just waiting). I wonder if Morrissey still performs "America Is Not the World" with those lyrics. I think he's probably glad to be proved wrong, on one count anyway!
