I keep hearing so much about Juno Temple, and how great she is. She even had a small part in the Dark Knight, and she's in a ton of new independent films. She's got a ton of buzz. Why? I've seen a couple of her performances and she's a terrible actress, a one trick pony. What gives? All she can do is look lost and act shy her performances are bland and annoying, what's with all of the praise? She sucks. At least in my opinion.

She seems like the newest version of Uma Thurman or Halle Berry; someone who was in two or three decent movies and wasn't totally wooden, and then everyone thinks that they're flipping fantastic, even after awful flicks like Batman & Robin or The Avengers (awful '90s movie), Catwoman or X-men 3, and Year One or Magic Magic expose their actual lack of talent. Sure, the writing and directing share some of the blame, but I've seen plenty of enjoyable performances in terrible movies (Sam Rockwell in Charlie's Angels comes to mind). She's completely overrated, and her career is destined to go the way of Amanda Seyfried or Emily Browning, and we'll all be better off.

You know what, you have some issues with actresses not doing nude scenes, especially American ones. I was skimming other threads and you bring up American actresses who weren't even on the radar of discussion until you brought them up. At least admit that you just want to see them naked and to get a hard on. You and the poster Poem.
It's only American actresses that have "no-nudity clauses"even when they're playing strippers!
Maybe because they don't view nudity the same way as the ever so enlightened and liberated Europeans. /sarc
Second, if nude scenes got actresses good movie roles then Jenna Jameson and 10,000 porno actresses would have it made.
Who said nude scenes get actresses good movie roles? I don't think anyone said that, at least not on any threads I've read.
If anything, there's still an attitude in America that NOT taking off their clothes somehow makes an actress respectable or talented.
And why do you seem so upset by this? Unless, of course, you just want a 16 (what if the age of legality in Europe was 15, hmmm ) year old to shed their clothes off for you in the name of "art." You would like that, wouldn't you?
It's nonsenseJuno Temple, Emily Browning, and Rooney Mara are hundred times more talented than the likes of Blake Lively, Megan Fox, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
You also forgot to add in Megan Fox. So basically, if we play by your reasoning, if Blake Lively got naked she would be talented in your eyes - breaking the ever so silly American attitude of getting naked. What's odd is Blake Lively actually received decent reviews for her part in The Town, and some even objected of her being replaced by Rooney Mara in Side Effects. She may not be the most obviously talented actress, but she had potential.

I think some people GREATLY overestimate how much pull British director Julien Temple has in the "industry". He might have gotten his daughter cast in British "St. Trinian's" films, but she ended up being very good in those and it's been all her since then.
The "one-trick pony" thing is no doubt another slam at her supposed penchant for nudity. First off, pretty much every European actress from 16 to 50 does nude scenes when the role calls for it. It's only American actresses that have "no-nudity clauses"even when they're playing strippers! Second, if nude scenes got actresses good movie roles then Jenna Jameson and 10,000 porno actresses would have it made. If anything, there's still an attitude in America that NOT taking off their clothes somehow makes an actress respectable or talented.
Thats where I am with her. I assumed she just was rich kid with industry connections and pretty enough to charm (and who knows what else) that powers that be to get roles. But even with my close minded assumption about her, after seeing her in a few specific roles it became clear that ha, she can actually act. Now I have respect for her ability and no longer think shes just a lucky little bimbo.
