Lacking awareness of one's self - not knowing what kind of a person they are, or how their behavior is perceived by others. Not recognizing their own limitations, or how ignorant, stupid, naive, or morally repugnant they are. Not recognising where they are in the social hierarchy.
People who have self-awareness are able to feel shame, guilt, and humility. People who have none rarely feel those emotions.
You must be lacking in self-awareness if you do not even know it's a thing.
