I knew Drax looked familiar but i couldnt pinpoint from where..
at first i thought it was Anton from Dexter.
Finding out it was the wrestler batista was a huge surprise i did not see coming.. and I am very good at recognizing actors and oir their voices in a movie.
so yeah I hope he does some more movies and not cling alot to similar roles.

Since Bautista was cast in the latest James Bond, I think it helped him very well. Basically if he can stay in his lane he could carve out a successful career.

I guess prior to it's release, there may've been caution. But I don't see why. He was playing an Alien, who didn't require normal human behaviours for his portrayal.
As of now, it's done wonders for him. Which i'am sure you're happy about.

I hope Bautista's role as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy gets him more roles.
I liked him as Diaz in Riddick so he's on on good path.
No two persons ever watch the same movie.

I didn't know who he was before I saw GoTG and looked him up on IMDB as I felt he did a good job in Guardians. I'd have to think this film will help his career as the film did well also.

Nathan Jones was actually just in the Mad Max film that did really well but comparing him to Bautista is laughable.
Bautista had one of the biggest roles in the highest box office hit of 2014, he will continue to play these kind of roles for quite sometime.

Yeah but Nathan Jones has never had a significant speaking role in ab68ny western film, let alone one as successful as GotG.
Don't get me wrong, I think Jones had a unique physical presence. I don't think I've seen another human with as much muscle mass while still being in proportion. He was also an excellent physical actor, really convincing in the fights he's been in. But his talents do not extend to character acting.

It will affect him terribly.
The movie's success will catapult everyone into stardom, but also raise expectations. Most actors can deal with that, but Bautista will probably make a few more action movies. Than he'll start to have the illusion that he is a good actor and will try other genres. Probably comedy and a drama. And that's where it all ends, so his next movie will probably in Bulgaria, with Seagal and/or Snipes.

I'm not a Bautista hater, but this is what I really think is gonna happen.

I didnt know Bautista until GotG but I do think he delivered the perfect Drax which was a very welcome surprise amongst the usually mediocre muscle performers. I'd like to see more of him in appropriate roles.

That movie got my attention because of him in the first place.
I know him from watching WWE, even though he was not my favourite. But he was pretty cool being Batista and he did an awesome job in Guardians.

I thought he was very funny and cool. He made me think of Drax as a barbarian with the heart of gold. Really liked him. He was probably my favorite character, heck I liked him more then a Racoon.

nothing oscar worthy but I thought he gave a good performance in the film and was far better than i was expecting.

We must have been watching different films because he was complete beep in gotg. "I am groot" was oscar worthy dialog compared to every line this guy executed on film.

I was VERY impressed by his performance. He can definitely act.
