Big guys like him have limitations as to what types of roles they can get. That being said, the film is huge and he gives a good performance in it, If he is willing to milk being typecast, he just became more visible to producers and filmmakers in terms of "tough guy" roles.
There are few things as fetching as a bruised ego on a beautiful angel.
