I'm halfway through 'Roadshow" and my heart goes out to you about your lost case. I am an avid prog rock musician and you guys have inspired me big-time. I am also a jeweler and I would love to have the honor of replacing your lost jewelry. If you can describe it to me properly, I would really like to reproduce as best as I can, the rings and things that you lost on your tour. I can do nearly anything when it comes to jewelry. I dont wear it myself but I feel that I could replace what you lost, at least 98% of it if you furnished me a few sketches or whatnot, and It would be an honor to me to 'give back' so to speak to my favorite Canadian batterist. Wait, Bill Bruford isn't Canadian is he?. I am SO kidding. If (and I hope it's true) you DO get back your stuff, I'd still like to send you some kind of art piece, just to thank you for all of your hard work all these years. I'm not a rabid fan, I really understand your point of view. I've seen you guys at shoreline and concord and I have introduced your music to my Danish prima ballerina wife, Who didn't even know pink floyd before she met me. I had her choreograph a school show to 'matte kudasai' and 'us and them' as well as the 'blue doorknob" by strauss, as she calls it. I loved your piece about driving up mount hamilton road. They have a 'lottery' every year for the public to come and look through the big telescopes there. I got it one year and it was amazing. After reading your bit about the cottages at the grand canyon, I changed my eclipse plans to the grand canyon instead of albuquerque. It's on may 20 after noon and the line of totality can be drawn on a map with a straightedge from Reno to Albuquerque. the eclipse ends in Lubbock, TX at sunset. It's an 'Annular' eclipse. That means that the moon is a bit too far away to completely cover the sun, but it will be covering the center of the sun, perfectly. I think that the corona will not be as visible as a 'total' eclipse. I've got a Roger Waters show at the local phone company venue in SF on the 11th of may. I wonder if Roger has any plans for the eclipse. I've been calling hotel chains in the path of the eclipse and have been trying to get them to buy 85cent eclipse glasses for their people. If I can save Someone's eyesight for 85 cents I will really try to make that happen. Anyway, please let me know if I can help with the lost jewelry. It would be my pleasure. and if you care, My band is called 'Marble' and we have a CD called 'Starlite Storage" give it a listen if you can. I'd be honored. Thank you for listening. Rush Rocks. So does Rash. Sincerely Roger and Lise.
