I will always remember her hit song "Lovergirl" as one of the better pop hits of the 1980s'. I think it is sad that Teena Marie has died much younger than she should have.

The first time I've seen the video "Lover Girl" on U68 around 85/86. It stuck to my head for years & listened to her more after that.
I missed our soulful doveour sweet groovy angel.

I do remember this song being on the Top 40 station when I was in my teens, but I don't recall the DJ ever saying who it was. (Nice how informative DJ's can be, isn't it?)
So now I know who did this song. RIP Teena.
