Cooking in hot kitchens, cooking over very hot stoves with steam and grease coming at your face all day long, standing on your feet for 14 hours or more is not necessarily benign to one's health or one's looks.
The reality is that if you cook all day long for years on end, how would you not expect to cook your face to a certain extent? It's also very hard on the body to go from a hot kitchen into cold storage and then back into the hot kitchen.
If you want to keep your looks and perhaps your health, you might want to think twice about becoming a professional cook.

a lot of high end chefs have a history of drug use and heavy drinking, it's part of kitchen culture. From haute' down to chain level restaurants
OK, I keep seeing you spread this tidbit around Chef Ramsey's IMDb boards. How do you know this? More importantly, can you back up your allegation with proof of any kind? Like maybe with some articles, studies, interviews, etc? All from reputable sources, of course. Blogs or the like tend to be subject to sensationalism. Oh, and please forgive me if I come across as confrontational.
For context, I eat fast food, pre-packaged lunches, and TV dinners. Thus, I am hardly in the high-end, fine dining industry. My knowledge of the business comes only from Chef Ramsey's "Hell's Kitchen" and "Kitchen Nightmares" TV shows. So you may be completely right! Your comment just piqued my interest, since I'd never heard this 111cbefore. No malice was intended but I apologize if it came across that way.
It is a scientific fact that nerds will one day rule the world. I am a nerd. You may bow before me.

I've gotta defend Gordon a bit. Scottish and Irish men don't typically age well. Their pale, thin skin wrinkles and blemishes quickly.

People age differently based ona variety of reasons, stress, diet etc. I am 54 and I don't have any wrinkles, but I also don't eat a lot of foods that are toxic to the human body and help to accelerate the aging of cells, I've worked out ever since I was kid, and I eat a lot of foods that are anti-oxidants.
With his work schedule he probably stays stressed.
