Yes, he was hit by a taxi right after being assaulted. Understandably, he was out of it and trying to regain his composure. He got a concussion and broken nose and he won't be opening for Maroon 5 for the next two weeks.
We don't know much about it, except that it was more than likely a random attack by thugs. My thoughts are that these people didn't know who he was, because I know that Gavin isn't that famous. It's not a bad thing, just saying that he's not very known as compared to John Mayer. After I heard the news, my heart was just broken. Gavin is a great guy and really appreciates his fans. It was just so sad. I feel for him, and hope that he recovers emotionally and physically ASAP. After the attack, he did thank everyone for their concern and said that he didn't remember much, but he could only get better from here.

A bunch of men jumped him and shortly after while trying to re-gain his composure, he was hit by a taxi. A witness saw him and got him help. Gavin went to the emergency room and was treated. Gavin was released yesterday, and is recovering at home. His concerts throughout the weekend have been cancelled.
