Christina Offley will start filming opposite Academy Award Nominee Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) in the upcoming motion picture Lady Bird
Lady Bird is entering her senior year of high school, at a Catholic girls school in Sacramento. Shes got no real plan for her future, shes flunking math, she fights with her Mom all the time, she cant get boys out of her head, and her hormones are raging. She wants to get out of Sacramento and prove something, but she doesnt know where to go, or what to prove
Lady Bird is being produced by Scott Rudin (Zoolander 2), and Directed by Greta Gerwig
Christina recently wrapped the motion picture The House for Warner Bros, opposite comedy stars Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell.
Christina is repped by Joe Lorenzo and Timothy Garrett at Society Entertainment.
The sinopsis is kind of worrying me, but this will be the most normal teen Saoirse has ever played.

Lucas Hedges was at the NBR this month, said Greta took him to the Crucible last year.
http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/01/manchester-by-the-sea-nbr-awards
Lucas Hedges picked up one of the first awards of the night, for breakthrough performance, winning everyone over with his youthful exuberance and bubbly acceptance speech (after being introduced by a delighted Greta Gerwig). The actress told a funny anecdote about taking the young star to see The Crucible on Broadway earlier this year; Hedges had never read the play or seen the film adaptation, but ended up loving the theater version.

Interview with Gerwig:
What are you learning as a director on that movie?
I think its a little premature for me to kind of encapsulate what Ive been learning. I guess one thing Ive been learning is that I think Ive been preparing to do this for a long time and I think all the work that Ive gotten to do as a writer and as a producer, but also as an actor, has been tremendously helpful for me when I started working on this film. Because I think a lot of directors, they never know what its like to be on another directors set because they really only go to their own parties. And as an actor you get to go to a lot of different peoples parties so you get a lot of different ways of doing it.
Talk to me about Saoirse Ronan. Shes one of my favorite people in this business.
Shes one of a kind. I feel like I cant talk about her without getting ridiculously gushy. I look at her face every day and I watch what she does every day and I cant believe it. Shes so gifted but shes almost like a savant because I dont think its intellectualized, I think its just available to her and I think shes so technical and without ever letting the technique overtake the heart, if that makes sense. I know theres a lot of technical actors where its almost like theyre really good but you dont feel like theres this line of life running through it, you feel like youre watching someone do math impressive math, but you dont really feel that like flesh and blood and bone of it. And Saoirse, God damn do you feel her just living vividly, which I dont know. Thats a gift from God. Shes great. Shes funny. Shes real. Shes beautiful. She can hold a close-up like nobody else. Its almost like a trap with her because you can have the whole movie on her face and its interesting and you have to ask yourself, Well, 2000wait, no, is that what the scene wants to be or do I just want to look at her face again? Do you know what I mean? Anyway, Im talking too much. Its not cooked yet. Its not out of the oven. Well talk about it again later. You are not wrong, though; she is a woman to be loved. Shes so young, too. Shes 21 and just a natural.

This isn't about Saoirse. It's about Lucas Hedges, who is so affecting in the recently opened Manchester by the Sea. He has a role in Lady Bird. Not sure as to what. Does he play, perhaps, a classmate of Saoirse's character?

New interviews with Greta:
She talks about Lady Bird at 14:25:
http://www.hollywood-elsewhere.com/2016/11/always-greta-gerwig/
This is the other one:
http://www.riomirada.com/features/2016/11/15/meeting-greta-gerwig/
As a lover of film and TV, I am always looking up film locations. Knowing this, senior Sophia Biehle, who works as a waitress at Burrs Fountain, informed me that scenes of the 2013 indie film Frances Ha! were filmed in the iconic East Sacramento ice cream parlor.
The star and co-writer, Greta Gerwig, is a Sacramento native, and I was filled with hometown pride when I read that she wanted to someday direct a movie in Sacramento.
I wasnt thinking about that a few months later, when I was driving home after school and came across portable movie sets and trailers parked along M Street in the Fab Forties.
I continued home, but then walked my dog back to the set, typing interview questions on my phone along the way. I was being totally casual when I walked up to the first person I saw. Turns out I was on the the set of Gerwigs movie she was filming in Sacramento and Los Angeles, Ladybird. The person I approached was producer Evelyn Oneill.
I could see Gerwig 20 feet away, dressed in a white calf-length dress and loafers, when I asked Oneill, if I could interview her for the Mirada.
I could see Gerwigs enthusiasm when Oneill walked over to ask. She approached me with a warm smile and genuine kindness. I was thrilled she was willing to take time out of her busy day for a short conversation with me and my iPhone.
Gerwig was very funny and didnt mind giving an interview to the Mirada, even though she attended St. Francis and is a Troubie for life.
She had already turned down interview requests by the Sacramento Bee and News and Review, but said she loved that I was being active in your school and learning to be a writer.
While the producer made it very clear to me to not release any information about the film Ladybird itself as they were trying to keep a low profile, I spoke with Gerwig for short three minutes about Sacramento, and she provided helpful advice for college and beyond.
My advice to you is to just start working, Gerwig said. In whatever field you want to pursue the best way to get started is just by doing. If you want to go into film, start making movies now. Just being hands-on and starting on what you want to do early on will be very helpful for the future.
Gerwigs parents still live in the house she grew up in in River Park. She attended Phoebe Hearst and Sutter Middle School before St Francis. She said she visits often to see her parents and friends.
I chose Sacramento (for the film location), because I love it, she said. Its the perfect place to grow up; its beautiful and the people are great. I have so many happy memories here, so it means a lot to take my career with me to my hometown.
Mid interview, Saoirse Ronan from Brooklyn (2015) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) passed by and began complimenting my dog. Dogs are the most precious of creatures, but my dog just became my own personal hero.
Ronans thick Irish accent was charming and her affinity for dogs was relatable.
The whole commotion of the movie was drawing people to the set, like nearby resident and Rio junior Molly Gherini who got the chance to meet Ronan.
She was very sweet and her (Irish) accent was adorable. said Gherini, who was also lucky enough to snag a picture.Gerwig had lots of insightful advice and was happy to share with us.
Ladybird will hopefully premier in early to mid 2017, Gerwig said.
I cant reveal anything about it, but her last words made me think of her breakout movie, Frances Ha!
In that movie Gerwigs character struggles to be a dancer, till she finally finds a way to realize her passion.
She told me about the importance of exploring and experimenting with different interests when you are young so that when the time comes to decide on a path you are more aware of what you want to do. Then, pursue that career choice with passion.
She told me that anybody who stays persistent and focused can succeed.
If I can do it, anybody can, she said with a smile.
They always notice the accent

Oh, I see. Nice attention to detail canvro. I suppose it's easy enough to do the necessary exteriors in Sacramento.

Now that I'm settled in and have had time to think about the earlier post today, I wonder if Lady Bird is primarily being shot in L.A. as opposed to Sacramento. The distance between the two is nearly 400 miles, so unless Saoirse was able to take a little time away from the shoot, my guess is the film is being produced in L.A.
