Do you ever find these super awkward?
Handshakes that last 15 seconds while the other party talks, designed to emphasize the gravity of the connection or significance of the meeting. It just feel gratuitous. Unnecessarily close. Bordering on harassment.
The platonic face kiss. I hate having to do these because invariably, If a woman goes for a kiss and I’m not outright repulsed by her, I’ll move to meet her lips. Like I can’t help it. It’s like a black belt - if you grab them the wrong way or appear to attack them, they’ll react per their training and break your arm.
Other things like the head nod or “how are you.” These empty gestures of acknowledgment are things I’m guilty of and I don’t know of any better way of avoiding a lengthy conversation with acquaintances other than to feign interest in a mutually understood exchange of empty greetings. Fucked up.
Stop.

When you call tech support and they say have a good day. You know there is no way in hell this person sitting in an Indian call center you just spent an hour yelling at and barely understanding hopes you have a nice day.
