Brit Marling is an amazing talent. She chooses good roles, good scripts, movies with ideas and at the same time entertaining. She is a very good actress, writer, producer. You don't find people like that easily. Wish her all the best.

I love her originality and child-like imaginative ideas which she just runs with and turns into something really engaging and thought-provoking. Bah to her detractors. She's a breath of fresh air.

Completely believable, fascinating to watch, with subtle nuanced performances.
She's a committed and talented artist. Will watch everything she does.
(And I would watch all of her work even if I didn't have a crush on her.)

Didn't watch I Origins yet, what do you think about it ? Is it shot by those handheld cameras that make you feel uncomfortable when watching?
And as you said, Brit Marling is very authentic in her roles. Not even acting.

I agree. She IS a great actress.
I loved her performance in Another Earth and I just watched I Origins and I'm truly fascinated by her way to act authentically without overacting even slightly, even once.
People on the internet can be mean, so Brit, if you read this: Keep it up!
I think she is amazing as well. I have only seen her in Another Earth, but in that, she was phenomenal and gives Oscar-worthy work. I also think she has a very unique eye for screenwriting and would love to see her bring her creative vision to mainstream audiences. They'd be in for a real treat.

I have only seen her in "another earth" but I guess I'm missing out. I'll have to check out Brit's other movies because I admired her acting very much in "another earth." I saw a preview of "sound of my voice" on demand and thought about renting it but never got around to it. I definitely need to see "the east" too.
My fave recent Horror genre films:The Conjuring,Evil Dead,Insdious 1&2, The Innkeepers, Sinister.

I agree with what you said about her. But I think it is not baffling when she doesn't get the roles of the "bombshells" you mentioned.
First, because their roles are almost all superficial and I doubt she would even agree to them if given to her. Second, we all know how Hollywood works, eye-candy, extravagant special effects and how to make money comes before how to make real art.

This girl is way too smart to not be a huge star someday. And unlike many actresses who serve primarily as eye candy, Brit can present a character with layers of complexity and subtlety which is something I really admire in actors as it shows the difficulty of their craft. Why she is not getting roles that are going to "bombshells" like Jennifer Lawrence or Scar16d0lett Johansson is absolutely baffling

Agreed. I've been a big fan of hers ever since I watched
Another Earth
a few years back. She has such a natural, organic presence on screen which is can be just mesmerising to watch (as with most of her scenes in
The Sound of my Voice
). Not only that, but she's helping to create intelligent films that ask the audience to form their own conclusions and discussions, which is something I greatly applaud. I'm sure we can expect more great things from her to come.

Agreed. Extremely talented, certainly Oscar potential and stands out in the industry. However, very picky about her roles. She seems to have a following that would love to see her in a Super Hero film, whether it be Avengers 2 or Masters of the Universe (Mike Cahill who directed her in Another Ea5b4rth and I Origins is on the short list of 3 directors being considered for a Masters of the Universe movie). I'd love to see her in something mainstream or a summer blockbuster for a change, but she turned down a Spiderman role, so who knows.
