I hated her character on The Wire more than any other character that exists yet I really like Felicia as an actress. I only hate her because of her having no regard for human life.

The wire was awesome , and as someone else said on here ,, only realised the character was a girl at the end !
I for one thought she was superb , she, like Omar little , played by Michael Kenneth williams , brought grit and realism to the series ,
Having said that I also just read she killed someone and only did 5 years for it ,
That sentence is a crime itself ,
But time will tell , as an actress I liked her,
And If she moves on from all that gang violence she could be a great role model ,
Or still be drawn to it and drag down loads of kids on her way down ,
Time will tell ,

She was convicted of second-degree murder in 1995. She shot a man twice and killed. This bitch served five years of a seven year sentence for taking a life. What a pile of crap. I detest the fact that she isn't still incarcerated and I detest the fact that HBO hired her, paid a criminal for portraying a criminal, and that she receives royalties. What I really hate are the ignorant people on this message board praising her in any way.

She was definitely in the authentic category! Hated her 'character' and couldn't wait to see her and Chris get picked up. How they wound up murdering a couple dozen people before being brought in is a bit beyond me, though.
Yeah, you're not supposed to like most of the characters but you do wind up love all of it.

that's pretty accurate portrayal of that type of person though
there's a lot of street kids that never learn to enunciate
as an actress i dont think she has a lot of range, but that was a valid performance for that type of character
type casting at its best, they cast an actual street kid to play a street kid

That's not an "accent", that's a refusal to make the minimum effort required to form actual words with one's mouth. ENUNCIATE, LADY.
Seriously though, she was beyond irritating, but it's the Wire. You're not supposed to like all of it. And then somehow you end up loving it as a whole.

Straight up. I was not too much of a fan either, I thought she was kind of irritating. Sure, felt authentic and all, but I just wished somebody would shut her the hell up.
That accent and posture kind of got on my nerves.
