You're right, ChrisI was wondering if anyone noticed how the pronounce their double Os in Baltimore. I had a friend in the Army from Baltimore, and he talked like that, but I thought it was just him. When I started watching 'The Corner' and 'The Wire', I realized that they all speak like that. I think it's just the black people that use that hard double O. I've never heard any of the white people in the cast use it.

It's true she was a premature baby, I don't know about voice damage though. In fact she's also been convicted of second degree murder in the city of Baltimore. Her role on the wire began after she got out of prison. She got the role after meeting Micheal Williams, who plays Omar on the wire, at a night club.

She is from East Baltimore, she has an authentic Baltimore accent. The Wire is my favorite series of all time, but if you're actually from Baltimore you can easily tell which actors are from here too. For example, as soon as I heard Proposition Joe speak, I knew he was from Baltimore too, same with Sherrod.

She's originally a Baltimore native. I think the she speaks that way in such a monotone, is because she was born a premature drug addicted baby, and it did something to her chords. I like her. I think she's a great actress.
