I thought this should be on this thread - Mia receiving oral care from Tom Hiddelston. I wonder if she flosses?

The hair has a little more of that reddish cast of Julianne Moore, who played her mom in "The Kids Are Alright" - she looks more like her daughter in that shot than in the film. I saw that in David Cronenberg's "Maps to the Stars", which both Mia and Julianne are in, Moore is the blond this time around. I think this might be closer to Mia's original hair color - who knows, the looks and style keep changing, on-screen and off. I'm looking forward to seeing what she'll be like in del Toro's "Crimson Peak", which is suppose to start shooting in several weeks.

To further prove the point of this thread: is it me or do you see a younger Julianne Moore in this pic?

SO, you didn't consider "Stoker" family friendly? I guess you have a point there (depends on what species of family). Although, if you think about it, though the films are aimed at wildly different audiences, in both cases Mia plays an extremely intelligent girl who is different and alienated from society, who has an extremely 238ACTIVE imagination, and who has lost her father at an extremely crucial time in her life. Both India and Alice are discovering their true identities, they're gaining their "muchness", in a way. In Burton's "Alice" you have the inner guide/mentor, the one who is trying to draw her out, with the Mad Hatter - in "Stoker" the inner guide/mentor is Uncle Charlie (I know, that's perverse). See what I'm getting at. Obviously the comparison is kind of like comparing the birth of opposites, like night and day - one is positive, the other i111cs negative, but in both cases the character is becoming self-realized. Anyway, the films are vastly different, in their overall success as works of art and in their financial profits.

I didn't really mean literally from Stoker to Alice, just that they're as far apart from each other in terms of family-friendliness as you can get. Or, in layman's terms, Disney's bringing back the chick who diddled herself in the shower earlier this year.

Yeah, its unfortunate that they feel the need for a sequel to the awful 'Alice' film.

Well, she isn't - there's at least 6 films in-between - it's still quite a contrast, though - hopefully, it won't be going from the sublime to the ridiculous. She signed on the dotted line for the first "Alice", so she's obligated to do the sequel - or else she could let Disney take her to court - Mickey Mouse has got deep pockets (he's a litigious little rodent), so I don't think that would be very smart. 2016 is a long way off - I just hope there are no muppets in Wonderland.

How can Mia go from something as visceral as Stoker to Alice in Wonderland 2? Ugh.

I obviously agree with you. Mia always brings depth to her acting, but there have been three roles, in particular, that have had a strong personal effect on me: "In Treatment", "Jane Eyre" and "Stoker" - they're all radically different. The fact that Mia has done it for me, to this extent, three separate times, in three very different ways, and by the time she was 23, is to me remarkable, and the effect is cumulative, particularly with her uncanny ability to morph into totally different personalities on-screen (for me that even magnifies the impact). There are people who may not like anything she's done, but thats fine - not everyone sees what I do, and not everyone cares about what I care about. She has remarkable talent, an ability to transform into "real" characters, and, let's be honest, a poetic aspect to her acting that has great depth - she has a spirit and intelligence that speaks volumes to those who resonate to such things. Obviously, there are some people who wouldn't like anything she does. With the number of films she's got coming out I don't expect all, or possibly any, to reach this level as a total work, but I know that there's great potential that some of them could (she's got a wonderful batting average) - I also know that she has integrity as an artist, and that's what's driving her output - not ego or a pursuit of money and fame. This means a lot to me - it's something, beyond her talent, that I respect and admire - in that area, at least, there's no mystery. Actually, many people, including myself, see a mysterious, enigmatic quality to her presence - that might be a phenomenon that attracts many, or is invisible to others, or possibly even puts some off - an interesting thing to consider. Not everyone, of course, is fascinated by mystery, but I am - especially in the mysterious ability to transform, and in the process reveal what's inside.
