IF YOU'RE INCLINED TOWARD DISCOURSE ABOUT the Ever-Precious Emily Meade there is only ONE PLACE "courtly" enough that it can be done on this Digital Frontier. That place is:
https://www.facebook.com/TheEmilyMeadeEffigy
No seriously. I am goddamned begging you peopleYOU! You people know how to be fans, right? You're comfortable with expressing your marginal idolatry. It's healthy! That's the spirit with which I "designed" this fan page in the first place. See, it's for you as much as her But all I've seen in a year in a half is close to one thousand tourists track dirt into my house with tiny praises, barely audible ones.
Okay, that was not only tangential but also metaphorical, huh? Ummmokay:
Emily Meade has her own fan page over on Facebook. She did not make it herself, that was me and that also makes me the administrator. Well one of two anyway (I have a more even-keeled partner to help oversee it). If you're wondering making a page on Facebook is the opposite of difficult. So I am the administrator only because Facebook says their has to be at least one and that they are to be called that. I am NOT gifted with computers or any technology for that matter, and although I "constructed" this fan page I only did so because Facebook made the pieces few, large, and well-fitted. So, it's not mine; it's hers, and yours, and the world's honestly 'cause it's getting serious attention from a truly global audience. AND YET it's lacking that, well, "lived in feel". Her close to 1,000 "fans"? They come and go. What I want for her are pilgrims. So how bout it: make a pilgrimage! Come on! Let YOUR hyper-analytic queries and YOUR inane yet ravenous curiosities BE that "lived in feel"!!!
In conclusion, for anyone who's a fan of or worse (in love) with the celestial Emily Meade do yourselves and her (as well as myself) the courtesy of moving their thoughts and exchanges to a more adequate digital environment. One that's not so mid-nineties public library?
Oh, I almost forgot the best part: she's actually aware of the page and chimes in now and then. How about that?! Stop sleeping on IMDB's couch and move-in with Emily and myself over at FB! And bring your friends and remember to "like" usHope to see you there.
