I thought he was great in the show. I think everyone in the complex were supposed to be used as some sort of organ harvesters. At least that's what he and some other girl were talking about them being "copies" for other people. Can't quite exactly remember what the quote was but it was something to that fact. That was my take on the episode, especially since a lot of these episodes take place in the not too distant future.

And I just saw that episode a month or so ago. Although I didn't really think of it as jail. To be honest, although I really liked that episode, it really wasn't very clear with its premise. I got the gist of the episode, but I honestly didn't understand why they were all riding stationary bikes and living in, what was basically an internet room. Albeit a room with very limited and specific internet access.
