Unfortunately she wasn't cast as Ellie

She's not a bad actress, but she doesn't fit the Ellie character.

I really hope she doesn't get/take this role, I like GOT and her portrayal of the Arya character is decent, but after playing The Last Of Us a couple of times I feel invested and connected to the lead characters, Maisie doesn't feel like the right choice for Ellie to me, that said I don't know who I'd go with as I'm not familiar with any actors of Ellie's age group. I also feel Maisie to an extent has already played this kind of role before in GOT as far as going from a vulnerable kid to a little ass kicker, so as a fan of the show it would be covering old ground to an extent to see this again. It's quite an uninspired choice in my opinion, kinda like she's being considered mainly because she is cub68rrent and can possibly pull off being around the same age as Ellie.

What are you smoking? Ellie looks so much like Ellen Page that I thought the character WAS Ellen Page in other words, that the studio had hired her to do motion cap and use her likeness.
Look at the comparison and tell me they don't look alike:

That picture is from the debut trailer. Like I said she only looks like her in the debut trailer. They have similar names. That's about it.
I don't think the final appearance of Ellie looks anything like Ellen Page. And I never said Chloe looks like Ellie. I think she would be a more plausible choice to play her than a woman who barley looked like her.
I'm not trying to argue or make you upset, but the ignorant one her is you. It's ignorant to say someone is a good choice for a character because they think they look alike.
I've seen many of her films. And I honestly think Chloe is more like Ellie than Ellen. She coul just pull it off better. And FYI casting in age differences are not that big.
And why are we even in a debate? Masie Williams is about to play her and honestly that's worse than both our choices.

She looks nothing like Ellie.
She was not modeled after Ellen Page. She just happen to coincidentally look like Ellen Page in the debut trailer. After that, fans were confused and actually thought Ellen played her. Ellen even said she had nothing to do with Ellie and Naughty Dog even altered her appearance to make her NOT look like Ellen Page and more like Ashley. She only looked like her in the debut trailer.
And what the hell do you mean "To top it all off"??? Sexuality on both Ellie and Ellen have nothing to do with each other.
And her personality is nothing like Ellie's. Like at all. Ellie is wise beyond her years and doesn't take beep from anyone. and Even if in some magical universe where they where alike, Ellen is like 28 and Ellie 14.
I wonder what more people would agree on who is more like Ellie Williams.
Chloe Moretz from Kick-Ass? or Ellen Page from Juno..
