It seems that the wider the trouser leg the more enjoyable and epic the Bond film.
Proof in the pudding is Bond's current state. A tight legged, almost Norman Wisdomesque leg strangler and the movies are dull and bland.
So, let's recap.
The movies were at their
most enjoyable
when Sir Roger Moore was flapping around the globe saving civilisation and
least enjoyable
with Craig in his spray on trouser pissing and moaning about his mother.
The flared trouser represents the scope and extravagance of the adventure.
The wider the trouser - the more enjoyable and epic the film.
