<p dir="auto">There's always going to be a few contrarians, or those who sincerely didn't agree, but I'm really talking about those who got compliments at that time from their peers… It's easy to be revisionist (I see it all the time) and praise someone after they pass away, or after they make so many great movies (maybe it's competition, or something personal).<br />
John Cassavetes seems to be respected. Even regular movie fans who haven't seen his movies seem to respect him, but they're not his peers.<br />
Marlon Brando when it comes to acting.<br />
