Anyone else think this show had the most intriguing and intelligent cast and stories? Edward Woodward was remarkable, and the chemistry between he and Robert Lansing was amazing. Loved the show, highly underrated

One of the greatest dramas ever, in my humble opinion.
Creasy: Okay, my friend. It's off to the next life for you. I guarantee you, you won't be lonely..

It was a great show and Edward Woodward was fantastic in it. I bought season one a few weeks ago, much to my wife and daughter's dismay. My daughter wasn't born when the show first aired and my wife couldn't really remember it. Anyway, much to their annoyance, I slipped the first disc into the dvd player and that was it ! They are both now hooked on the show. Really miss a lot of the shows from the 80s.

I wasn't very old when it was on but I remember it like yesterday and over many years Edward Woodward came to be one of my all time favourite actors. Lovely gentle man in real life. Beautiful singing voice. I have a clip somewhere of him singing 'It's just the way you look tonight'. Stunning. Much missed.

Loved the show. Edward Woodward was great in this. Also loved Melissa Anderson from "Little House on the Prairie" as his daughter.

Edward Woodward had a great sense of humor about his starring role. He said "Short, fat, and old and I'm a TV star!" I don't think there will ever again be a network TV show starring a middle-aged, grey haired man as the hero. I loved the show. It combined two of my favorite genres: espionage and vigilantism. Not every episode was great. But growing up in 80s New York, I loved the fantasy of a guy like McCall fighting crime in New York. I watch the reruns to remember how much fun yet scary New York was back then.
George Carlin: It's all bullsh-t and it's bad for ya.

Edward Woodward was a great actor but this drivel was well beneath him and he was much too old to be believable.
See him at his best in "Callan".

Awesome show.
They don't make shows like this anymore (or actors - like Woodward - for that matter).

I became a fan with season 2 when the stories became more spy-oriented and it was like the CIA and the KGB were running maneuvers against each other in New York. Although, to this day, my favorite episode is probably "The Line," with the citizens patrol.
"He IS Redstone."
