What are some really good crime shows that were cancelled after the first season? Here are a couple that I discovered not long ago:
-Chase
-Women's murder club
-The forgotten

Was about a hot shot cop promoted to detective and would become the Police Commissioner in only 7 years. Had a good cast and stories.

Justice was on FOX for only one season. It was a courtroom drama that took the side of defence attorneys and at the end of each episode, revealed "What Really Happened"

Memphis Beat, but it was 2 eight episode seasons on TNT. I think the same company is now making Battle Creek.
