It was said on Twitter a while ago that some film producers have given their screenplays to the wrong directors, and for that reason the films bombed at the box office. Similarly, when writers have completed and polished their screenplays they can be daunted by the submission requirements that agents impose. Surely this means that the screenplays are not reaching the producers at the right times. It would be better if agents adopt an easier submissions procedure, so that writers with good screenplays can submit only the screenplay and a covering letter.

Have a completed screenplay, submit a treatment of it. Job done.
