1. Chainsaw Man - I read the manga before the anime came out. Honestly, this series managed to improve upon the source material. The direction, animation, voice acting, sound design, and score add a great deal to what is already a great ****ing story. Really did the manga justice.
2. Spy x Family - It's about a spy who has to create a fake family in order to infiltrate a prestigious private school in order to get in contact with a secretive oligarch. The story itself isn't really anything great; it's really just a slice-of-life anime that deals with espionage. What makes the series great is the characters and writing and the sense of humor. Like with Chainsaw Man, I read the manga before the series came out and it managed to live up to my expectations… and in some ways exceed them.
3. Bocchi the Rock - It's about a socially awkward girl who dreams of becoming a rock star and joins a band. On the surface, you wouldn't think it'd be that great. But it actually is. Has a very auteurist sensibility to it. Pretty experimental in its presentation… which I really ****in dig.
4. Kaguya-sama: Love is War - A high school rom-com about two stubborn high achievers who plot and scheme to get the other to admit their feelings. It's actually really ****ing funny… and can be surprisingly heartfelt at times. Every season somehow improves upon the previous on… meaning this season might honestly be the best so far.
5. Attack on Titan: Season 4 - Part 2 - Can't really talk about this one in great depth due to how the plot is so full of twists and turns. There's a third and final part to the last season that'll be coming out sometime this year (I think April or July). But yeah, it's really ****ing good.
