As deeply as I admire the great Basil Rathbone I am not a fan of his Holmes series.
Anton Wontner, a contemporary of Rathbone's, (old school chums I believe) arguably gives him strong competition.
But be that as it may, I choose

'The Seven Per Cent Solution'
(Nicol Williamson)
'The Strange Case of Miss Alice Faulkner'
(Frank Langella)
