In my opinion, nothing beats the original 1976. The acting was perfect, and the pig blood scene was brilliantly shot. You can't help but feel this poor girl's pain. What an astonishing performance.

To be honest, as much as I like Chloe Moretz and Jennifer Moore, I felt the movie is disappointing. There are many scenes they could have added into the movie, including the town destruction sequence, despite of the book being nearly 300 pages long, but the director basically copied the old film and made it taken place in modern times.
The 1976 film did very well because it has emotional impact on the viewers, more dramatic. But the 2013 movie did expand on her power a little and it shows that her power is more destructive than previously thought. The only difference is that
Mrs. Collins lives in the remake
.
I even heard there were many scenes cut from the movie, totally about half an hour (I think?). Has this been addressed?

Despite of the horrible reviews, I actually liked this film. Sure some of the acting could have been improved, but it's an entertaining film. And one of the reasons I like the movie is because of the return of Sue Snell. I hated the part
when she gets unexpectedly killed in the sequel after she tries to reach Carrie. Her death caught me off guard.
