A bit of a mess plot-wise, but some damn fine special effects work. I also get the impression watching the film that De Palma had a bad drug habit he was trying to pay for by making the film.

I love it, it's fûcking great. The funny thing about it is how influential it is. Both Akira and Scanners pull stuff from this movie. It's not De Palma's most well known psychic movie (which seems like a weird thing to say) but it's the one that had the biggest impact on the genre.

8/10 John Cassavetes is perfect as the slimy villain, and Kirk Douglas is a great hero. Amy Irving is stunningly beautiful as well, and the ending is really amazing.
