I'm pretty sure this was from the 90s revival of the outer limits but I may be mistaken.
In the episode I remember there was a group of college students on a trip to some pyramid or tomb somewhere and they accidentally knock over something and the sun dissappear. They have a radio with them and they hear about how the world is going insane and falling apart without the sun. They come to the conclusion somehow that one of them needs to be sacrificed in order to set things right. They end up killing one of their own and afterward the sun comes back and the radio says it was just a freak eclipse and the survivors are left to deal with killing their friend for no reason.
Sound familiar to anyone? I've been trying to find this for years with no luck.
Thank you
