The Ghost And Mrs. Muir (well, it has a ghost)
The Red House
I've been trying to track down the 1947 version of
Seven Keys To Baldpate
. I have the 1929, 1935, and 1983 (House Of Long Shadows) versions.
Some good movies though released this year:
Miracle On 34th Street, The Egg and I, Road To Rio
, and of course Bud and Lou's
Buck Privates Come Home
.
I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

Ach - I'm glad to hear the BLU looks great, but just before it came out I bought the DVD-R which is almost too dark to be watchable at times so "Ach!"

And it was Walker's final movie. The Blu Ray is great, the film never looked better.

Oh my Godzilla! It's true, it's true! My ability to actually create a list has devolved into - gasp - sentences. And what's worse is I didn't even list one horror film. Although one film wouldn't be a list either. Since I recognize that then it must mean it's coming back. My list making ability is coming back. "It's alive! Alive!"

That's not a list. That's just a list of words making sentences.

Another great year for noir including many that could be called horrors like: The Red House, Pursued, Secret Beyond the Door, and Nightmare Alley.
I like House of Long Shadows - it's great to see all those guys acting together and it's a fun flick. Decidedly tame for Pete Walker, but in keeping with the Baldpate style. I haven't seen all the other versions but hope to one day.

Seven Keys To Baldpate
I think this one might only exist in your imagination brah. It does sound intriguing though. Why not produce your idea and release it? I bet Anchor Bay might do it. I actually saw some good Anchor Bays recently.

Ever since the nice blu-ray version of
The Red House
has become available, I've been eager to a-watch it, but just haven't gotten it yet.
So here is what I can say:

Secret Beyond the Door

Scared to Death

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (One of my all-time favorite sentimental movies I remember watching it with my mother and reading the book as a wee one but it's so low on the "scary" scale that it's hard to classify it as "Horror.")
Other non-horrors I like from 1947:
Black Narcissus
Nightmare Alley
The Egg and I
for some reasons I don't remember, I only rated
Out of the Past
a 4/1O. I don't even remember what it's about, so who knows.
