Watched it earlier today with no prior knowledge of the film, other than a doll is involved. So I'm assuming it will be similar to stuff like Tourist Trap, Childs Play, Dolls etc where the normally inanimate objects come alive to run amok slaughtering folk willy and indeed nilly
Turned out to be a psychological thriller, and a very good one at that. I've since read some comparisons to Psycho, and while I wouldn't say it's a blood relative of Hitchcock's masterpiece, it's some kind of distant cousin twice removed.
Bit of a slow starter, and has one scene that seemed out of place to the rest of the film (to me at least)
where a nurse pleasures herself with Pin.
I'm assuming this is to build the backstory for Leons behaviour later on, but a bit random nonetheless.
Anyway great movie

10/10 and I put it in my Best Indie Horror list as well:
http://www.imdb.com/list/ls070522782/
A charming love story between a woman and her friend "Pinnochio." Not for the faint of heart.

The book it's based on is even better.
I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

Rented this when it first came out and loved it for its genuine creepiness. Also I'm Canadian and I had a huge hard on for the gorgeous Cindy Preston. I think that's her name. 7 or 8 out of 10 as I need to rewatch it since I haven't seen it in 25 years or so.
