The residents of an isolated mountain town must band together to survive during a devastating heat wave. This TV-movie aired as part of the ABC Movie of the Week on 1/26/1974.
The plot focuses upon the effect an intense and prolonged heat wave and water shortage has on Frank Taylor (Ben Murphy) and his pregnant wife Laura Taylor (Bonnie Bedelia; she would later go on to play Bruce Wilis' ex-wife in Die Hard), both while they are in the city where they live and after they decide to relocate.
You can watch the full movie on YouTube:
So, if you're bummed about running out of toilet paper and meat, things could be worse!
Any fans of actor David Huddleston will get a kick out of his small role.
"That's a dumb question, Miss Glenn’s Organ."
