You cannot see a film such as "Hollywood(1923)" today because it no longer exist in print form.
A lot of classic films are turning to dust right now in the studio vaults because of the films of today.
A lot of people consider classic films crap because its different to todays movies. There We no ratings for movies back in the golden age of cinema. There were no sex, drugs, cursing, violence, ETC. back then. There was singing and dancing, but you don't see that stuff much in movies today.
Not too many silent films exist today because people had to preserve the talkies and people considered silents "not worth saving* because they were silent. If you go to a video store today nd you ask if they can find you a silent movie, they will just laugh at you(lol!!!!!!
). one time, I asked for a silent movie at suncoast and the workers just laughed at me until I left the store.
The silent movie graveyard:
*Greed(1925)-only 2 and a half hours exist of it today.
*London After Midnight(1927)-famous because its lost and because Lon Chaney SR. stars in it. Only exist in production photographs. A reconstruction was made and aired on TCM on Halloween night in 2002.
*Convention City(1933)-an early talkie that no longer exist because people said it was too dirty to be shown in theatres and all prints were demanded to be destroyed and so they were.
*Cleopatra(1917)-Theda Bara's greatest silent film. ONLY 45 SECONDS SURVIVED OF THIS FILM. The 1912 version still exist, but the music score is terrible.
Other lost films:
romeo and juliet(1916)
she(1916)
hollywood(1923)
etc.
