Yeah, it fluctuates so wildly between hilariously bad and hilariously awesome. For pure entertainment value it easily ranks as one of the best ninja movies ever made. It's better than the self-serious Revenge of the Ninja which all these ninja fans praise all the time. That one has some realistic ninja techniques sure, but it doesn't make up for the fact that it's just a dull, poor quality action movie. Ninja III on the other hand could never be called a boring movie. It is a mixed bag of ridiculous 80s cliches with so much more in the way of just over-the-top ninja action.

The "Electric Boogaloo" documentary is what inspired me to start checking out some of Cannon's back catalog in the first place. I hadn't seen "Ninja III" since I was in high school!

This is a true classic. The possession scene had me laughing my ass off. I was in Love with Lucinda Dickey back then. Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films is streaming on Netflix at the moment.
