I really enjoyed the 2019 film, about the Battle of Midway, starring Ed Skrein, Dennis Quaid, and Woody Harrelson, with Mandy Moore, Nick Jonas, and Ms. Trudeau. Ed was excellent, as was Harrelson, Quaid and Moore. Jonas performance, as a brief supporting actor, was stunning. And Trudeau's music and singing were unforgettable. And that great Japanese actor who portrayed Yamamoto was quite excellent, also, as were all of the Japanese supporting actors. This was a phenomenally well acted portrayal, of an even better script, based on the true story, of an improbable American naval victory, in the Pacific, during WWII, that stopped the 6 month long Japanese naval offensive campaign–and took away their offensive capability–for the rest of the war. And, although others have pointed out a few totally trivial historical inaccuracies (like which side of the carrier, the bridge was on, etc.), the basic strategic story, and how it played out, was totally historically accurate. And, although the Japanese had no chance whatsoever, to invade the West Coast, back in '42, no one in the U.S. really seemed to know that, then, so Dick Best probably really did think that the West Coast would burn, if they didn't win this battle (even though there was no chance of invasion, whatsoever, due to Japanese logistical incapabilities. Hell, they couldn't even get Hawaii, let alone California!) And I loved the portrayal of lieutenant commander, and filmmaker, John Ford, to whom we owe whatever real footage we have, of the actual attack, on the island, itself. And the great actors who portrayed Rochefort and Layton, around whom a lot of the movie's story revolved, were excellent, as was Ed Skrein, in his portrayal of Dick Best, the only man who ever sank TWO Jap carriers, early in the war, when we needed it. As a true follower of history, and reader of Shattered Sword, and many other books on this battle, and other battles during this war, as well, I really loved this movie. It was excellent, and I give it, and the great filmmaker who made it, 10 stars!

It was kind of all over the shop, disjointed is the best word i can find to describe it. They crammed too much in like the whole plot about the Chinese and the Doolittle Raid, which was obviously aimed at Chinese audiences. But overall I thought it was ok and Dennis Quaid was very good and should've been seen more.

Paragraphs next time please. I read 2 sentences.
I was surprised at how good this film was. It was a cinematic movie and I was lucky enough to see and hear it on a big screen in Dolby Atmos. It has been my favorite Atmos experience to date.
It allowed for plenty of subbase rumbles, which harken back to the ponderous and bland original from '76, which had a selected release in Sensurround.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?
