I was never the most regular poster here, but i've been a daily reader for years. Typically, I've always been more active on the individual movie boards.
I recognize all your usernames and distinct personalities, though you probably don't know mine. i always wished i had more to contribute here, but there were so many knowledgable and intelligent people on this board that most times, just reading your comments was sufficient.
I was really broken up over the closing of the boards and i've done as much as possible (including emailing the press) to try to save them. However, my efforts are only my own and can only extend so far. And now our time is waning
I want to thank all of you for your contributions to my Asian movie knowledge.
When i first dropped in here i had only seen a couple Asian dozen films, mostly from Korea. Over the years that i've visited this board i've read countless, discussions, lists, reviews and recommendations on movies from Asia. You opened my world to a cinematic experience that i most likely would not have otherwise had and for that, I'm truly grateful.
I honestly believe that without you all, i would not have developed into the writer and filmmaker that i am today. I can only imagine how many other people you have positively influenced
I know that it's a small community of people here, but a great one. I'm sad to see it go.
