Hi there,
There's this movie I watched many years back I have fond memories of, but I can't seem to find out what it was called. It had to be from China, and I guess that's where it took place, in some kind of valley throughout, there were[ mountains and lots of trees and this hut. In that hut lived a man with two women, one of them had to be played by Zhang Ziyi. They collected herbs or something. Somehow the man was treating them badly and this romantic relationship evolves between the two girls, or something. In the ending the one not supposedly played by Ziyi, spills the ashes of her lover, the second girl, into a river close by the hut, probably years later. There's something about reincarnation.
