For me not "Bahubaali" but the Shahrukh face modifications in "Fan". State of the art even for Hollywood. Very nice.

Given the (wrinkled beat-up) look of Shahrukh Khan's face today
in real life,
I'd say that all his movies of the last ten years are masterpieces of sfx even by Hollywood standards.
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie.

How was that face technically awful?

That face was awful, there was literally no need for him to have that role. The film was shoddy in itself but could have worked if the role had been given to a hungry newcomer. It could have been that young guy's "Darr" break out if handled correctly.

Nonsense. The face was pretty transparent sfx wise. Of course it was creepy to look at (because it was so well done) and this might have also contributed to the failure, but the main reason was clearly that the fans did not want to look into that mirror for sure. Too unbearable. That Khan wanted to look into it is amazing enough. Not many superstars would.

That 'face' was very hard to look on. So, NO.
