While Hindus would hear these stories at home how do other peoples get exposed to these epic. Many non-Hindus I know seem to know a lot of stories of these epics. How do they get exposed to these stories?How do they get exposed to these stories?(Oral, written or do they watch mythological shows? (especially those from non Dharmic faiths so you could exclude Jains, Buddhists and Sikhs as well)

Well the Ramayana and Mahabharata tv shows from the 90s were very popular and now there seems to be some version of them on tv all the time. Plus characters, story-lines and lessons from these 2 texts are mentioned all the time by people in movies, songs and in general. They are cultural touchstones kinda like how the Illiad and say Christianity is especially in the west. Like someone strong is sometimes called hercules or herculean or like Bhima. Bhima=strong, arjun=warrior, hitler=evil.
By the way I'm a sikh born and raised in canada, watched 90's Mahbharata on tv as a kid, still have found memories of it.

Let alone non-Hindus, I'd bet even many of the Hindus would have been exposed to it due to the BR Chopra TV series.
EDIT - mostly they must be familiar with the Gita, and the other stories not so much.
