Agreed he is in terrific form and he hasn't underperformed till now. His batting is really a good plus point in tests.

he has done well abroad in all countries except Aus and Eng. He has done well in NZ and SAF as well where pitches are not conducive to spin. He needs some time. If he doesnt do well next time in Aus and Eng then we can pass that judgement. The guy has more man of the match awards than Sachin. You cant deny his attitude and performance. Other spinner bowl on the same pitch and dont get the same returns. Plus he is a quality batsman with an avg. of almost 40 in tests.

India's next tour outside Asia is to South Africa in late 2017. Until then, Ashwin gets to play another 11 to 15 tests in favorable conditions. He might end up with 280 to 300 wickets on current form.
