If anyone scoffs at Cruise’s acting ability I tell them to go watch those two and get back to me. Phenomenal films and he’s pitch perfect in them. He’s much more convincing as asshole characters than squeaky clean Ethan Hunt types.

  • fast becoming my favorite Kubrick. The part doesn’t demand anything special from Cruise but he’s very good in it, and the film is a true modern classic that just gets more prescient as time goes on…

I guess what I meant by that, is he seemed convincing in the role of a war hawk US senator, and it was not the typical role that Tom Cruise is usually type cast in.
