There's a difference between a beauty mark mole and a regular ugly mole, though (size, shape, color, location). I don't think the former Cindy Crawford type ever really fell out of favor.

I believe it was considered sexy in the 40s and the 50s… it was called a beauty mark.
The whole thing sort of came back in the 90s with Cindy Crawford.

Was Marilyn the first beauty to become idolized even with the mole? I hate that Madonna had hers removed. It was beautiful. It gave her character. Perhaps Madonna's mole became cancerous.
